一、單元分析（unit analysis）

1. 本課在對希望工程描述時，談及了什么是希望工程以及希望工程地目的和意義。教師可圍繞“希望工程”這一主題，讓學生知道：what is project hope？and what is it used for?同時設計各種教學活動讓學生體會自己作為未來建設力量地重要性，明白形成正確地人生觀，世界觀地重要性，增強自己對人類社會發展地責任感和使命感，鼓勵學生去關心他人，幫助他人，培養人道，仁愛，同情和利他這些新時期社會建設所需要的最基本的人格。
2. 圍繞本課主題“making the world a better place to live”，學生探討希望工程的概述、希望工程的目的、希望工程的意義。并在此基礎上，展開我們如何參與希望工程建設和怎樣關愛社會和回報社會。
3. 本課中是上單元語法的延續和補充——word formation(2)。本單元主要學習詞的轉化（conversion）和詞的合成(compounding)。
4. 設計對話，句型操練等形式，讓學生在任務型教學模擬情境中反復操練本單元出現的詞的轉化和合成的語法現象。
