動名詞的用法：
（１） 作主語
Playing basketball is my favorite sport.
打籃球是我最喜歡的運動。
Travelling with friends at weekends is fun.
周末和朋友們旅行是愉快的。
注意:動名詞做主語可用it作形式上的主語。如：
It is fun travelling with friends at weekends.
（２） 作賓語
I enjoy playing computer games.
我喜歡玩電腦游戲。
He gave up smoking five years ago.
他五年前就戒煙了。
（３） 作表語
What he hated most was doing nothing.
他最討厭什么都不做。
Seeing is believing.
眼見為實。
（４） 作定語
There’s a dining room in our school.
在我們學校有餐廳。
All the people watching laughed.
所有看著的人們都笑了。
（５） 動名詞的復合結構”物主代詞（或名詞的所有格）+動名詞”。如：
Tom’s going to school late made her mother angry.
湯姆去學校遲到了使他的媽媽很生氣。
Would you mind my opening the window?
你介意我打開窗戶嗎？
3．后面常接動名詞的動詞和短語
（1）mind（介意）, enjoy（喜歡，享受）, finish（完成） imagine（想象）
（2）keep（保持）, suggest（建議）, advise（建議，提議）, allow（允許）, permit（許諾）, consider（考慮）
（3）be used to doing（習慣于做某事）, look forward to doing（期盼著做某事）, stick to doing （堅持做某事）, pay attention to doing（注意）, devote to doing（致力于做某事）
（4）be busy doing（忙于做某事）, can’t help doing（情不自禁做某事）, it is no good doing（做某事是不好的）, it is no use doing（做某事是無用的）, be worth doing（值得做某事）等
