Cinderella is my favorite fairy tale. It told us a wonderful love story. The poor girl, Cinderella, was ill treated by her step mother and self sisters. But finally, she got her true love with the prince.

It made me moved because Cinderella is such a brave girl; she doesnt care about the gap between her and her beloved one. I learn from it that miracles are often created by our own effort.

  英語讀后感 6

It appears that Plato’s Apology remains the authentic material revealing the details of Socrates’ self-defense, showing that Socrates mainly was accused of two offenses. For one thing, he was charged of corrupting young people’s mind with his philosophical preaching. For another, he was accused of being a complete atheist.

Socrates’ self-defense, in those two aspects, might seem a little bit like sophism詭辯. For the first accusation, Socrates stressed that if he was the only corruptor of youth whereas there were so many improvers like the judges in the court, he would by no means have accomplished the task of poisoning young minds. He also mentioned as people shared the common sense to be benefited rather than harmed, it’s unlikely that he could fool people successfully. (The second argument sounds tricky, as most people are just following suits in their lives, so probably it would be hard for one to realize if he was fooled or not.)For the second one, he refuted by stating that as a man could not believe in spiritual and divine agencies without faith in spirits and demigods, and as the accuser had sworn in the indictment訴訟 that Socrates taught and believe in the above-mentioned agencies, Socrates himself could not be termed as an atheist.

From my standpoint of view, his refutation appeared very clever but I was doubtful whether his fellow Athenians could either understand or accept it. It is noted that Socrates attempted to analyze the origin of the accusers’ enmity before defending himself against the two charges. His reasoning nevertheless demonstrated his pride as a remarkably intelligent philosopher as he deemed that politicians, poets and artisans were no wiser, with the observation that those people possessed only pretensions of wisdom and little knowledge of their own limitations.

However, to be frank, who could willingly acknowledge his own ignorance and accept this exposure of defect by a proud philosopher like Socrates? Besides, Socrates considered himself as empowered by god to rigorously and critically examine people around him. In other words, his philosophical questioning carried divine purpose, according to his own remarks. I reckon these statements could gain popularity only among ablest people with equally sublimate mind, who, sadly, were never the majority. And I would hereby venture to say that’s probably the reason why Socrates lost his case by a small margin.

Actually, I think Socrates’ philosophical reflection of life’s meaning stood out in the defense, as he emphatically claimed that “the unexamined life is not worth living.” For instance, he quoted Achilles’ choice between a short and glorious life and a long and mediocre one as an argument for “the fear of death is the pretense of wisdom”. He would submit his own life later to prove this point. In addition, he predicted that should Athens claim his life, the citizens would hurt themselves more than they would hurt him, as they would not easily find his substitute. He further explained that he had no interest in public and state affairs, for he’s not the man to survive and thrive in those matters. And finally, he would not plead for his life as he thought such deed would debase himself. He even painted poetically the afterlife of possible converse with Orpheus and Musaeus and Hesiod and Homer, exemplifying his emphasis on the immortality of the soul.

  英語讀后感 9

After reading the article "Ugly Duckling", I found the ugly duckling to be very stubborn. The duck mother scolded it for being ugly and drove it away, the wild duck scolded it for being "so ugly", the wild goose scolded it for being "so ugly and cute", and it laughed at itself. "Thank goodness, Im so ugly that even the hunting dog doesnt want to eat me." The language inside was very funny, Another sentence is "There is a dilapidated house. One day, there was a strong wind, and a north wind or a south wind blew that house down to the wrong side, so it didnt collapse

Later on, the ugly duckling saw a group of beautiful white swans. It tried to get close to them and felt that if it got close to them, they would definitely kill me because I was too ugly. However, it thought it would be better than being pecked to death by a chicken or killed by someone else. To its surprise, it saw its own shadow in the water and turned into a white swan. All the animals welcomed it, saying it was the youngest and most beautiful white swan.

  英語讀后感 10

‘WE ARE EQUAL!’ When these three words came out of the plain-looking girl’s mouth, the whole world was shocked.

We have good reason to be shocked——deprived of family happiness from an early age, with neither beauty nor wealth to speak of, Jane Eyre seems to be never destined to bee the heroine shining in the spotlight we often read about in romances——but is there really such a thing called destiny? At least Jane doesn’t think so. She is not pretty; she is not rich; she is a mere ordinary governess, so what? As an individual human existence, she has dignity as well as anyone else, so she deserves the chance to love and to be loved as well as anyone else! Despite her short, delicate body, her soul is not the least weaker than others’——even greater than most of them. The moment she said the three powerful words to Mr. Rochester proudly and steadily, her pale face must have been sparkling with sacredness, which would have made her the most beautiful woman ever, because the beauty of independence is eternal. With this spirit of independence she not only gained herself love, respect and happiness but also proved to the world that nobody is second class——unless you believe yourself to be.

Hundreds of thousands of ordinary girls that usually get neglected in life——me included——love and admire Jane deeply because she inspires and encourages us to strive for our life goals against all odds bravely. She is a role model, an idol in our hearts but at the same time a friend, a big sister next door who’s not at all cold and distant, always ready and willing to stand by our side whenever we are in trouble. Every time when I feel inferior, puzzled and lose faith in myself and the strength to carry on the life path already chosen, Jane, my dear friend’s determined face and forceful words on that serene summer night would emerge inside my mind, which never failed to relight my fire of passion. Oh, how I long to be like her.

But it’s not that I totally believe in her life story, by which I mean I don’t think the story of hers can happen to anybody. To me, it’s somewhat like a fairy tale that begins with ‘long long ago’ and ends with ‘ever after’, in which the prince and princess, though having suffered much in the process of getting together, would always end up in a harmonious marriage and enjoy all the best life has to offer. Being an obscure girl herself, the author Charlotte Bronte was so generous as to have provided our dear Jane a Mr. Rochester who loves her just the way she is, appreciates her unique character and a kindhearted family (later proved to be her relatives) that took her in when she was helpless and offered her a job to support herself. In reality, not every Jane Eyre can meet the proper people at the right time, just as not every ugly duckling can turn into a graceful swan——it may depend on a matter of luck. If you are too obsessed with fairy tales, you are very likely to feel disappointed and deceived by the not-so-perfect everyday life. But what are fairy tales for? We love to read them and we tend to believe in them even though we know they are not real. Sometimes we do need a little romantic daydream as seasonings in the routine of life, and we also need an ideal to believe in, a creed to live by, and a northern star to show us directions on the long journey.

That’s maybe what Jane Eyre is for——it gives numerous mon girls a possibility to look forward to, a life to reach for, and above all, a positive attitude to face all odds to encounter. Perhaps we can’t all have her luck, but we can have her independence, confidence, persistence, the courage of standing up to fight for ourselves against those seemingly taller than us, and the faith that we can finally win because WE ARE EQUAL.

  英語讀后感 11

As Jane Eyre, in her plainness and solitude, walks to and fro in the Thornfield Hall, her unfortunate childhood, conflicting love, and religious forbiddance all cannot stop her seeking a better life and cherishing the human nature. She broke loose the chains that jailed her spirit, and through her struggles she overcame the poverty, customs, social standards, and piety which all blocked her from her dream of happiness, and finally became the master of herself! It could be said that Janes life was earned through retaliation and pursuit, that she fought tooth and nail until the sunlight was won. The sunlight now in her palm, shines brightly unto her!

In fact, one has endless thoughts for the most effulgent sunbeam that shines after the storm. I always think in a difficult situation, if and when the hardships of this life is done, if and when the road of time no longer curves, if and when I try my best to walk to the end, will I be able to see the blinding sunlight? For the most important meaning in life is that, struggling through your trials you realize the value of your life, while taking away all the bitter misfortunes. Only then will we see the true radiance of the golden sun...

——Thoughts given by Sherlock Holmes and the Duke’s Son

Written in the first chapter of the book Pride and Prejudice is an extraordinary sentence of which even a person who has had only a brief look upon the book will not fail to receive a deep impression-It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife. In terms of Sherlock Holmes, we’d better alter the sentence into “It is a fact universally accepted by readers throughout the world that an excellent book in possession of our famous detective Sherlock Holmes is undoubtedly a masterpiece of all times.” Perhaps this is one of the most obvious explanations for the unrivaled popularity of “Holmes series” in the field of detective stories. Overwhelmed by the remendations provided by my friends, I decided to take a look on this Sherlock Holmes and the Duke’s Son originally published by Oxford University Press.

As a whole, this book is about a case concerning the Duke’s missing son. Arthur, the Duke’s son, was found out in a certain morning to have disappeared, acpanied with which was also the disappearance of the German teacher. The school master Dr. Huxtable then turned to the famous detective of the time Sherlock Holmes for help. Realizing how tough and important the case is, Holmes immediately made up his mind to accept the case and followed Dr. Huxtable back to Mackleton by train. Having formed a rough idea about the whole matter, Holmes probed into the case immediately and had a careful investigation of the entire area shortly after the arrival, during the process of which he discovered the body of the German teacher Heidegger. Finally, primarily due to his prominent ability as a detective, he managed to unravel the mystery and obtained the twelve thousand pounds promised by the Duke.

Having once started reading this fiction, I was pletely immersed in the mysterious story presented by the book. As the saying goes, “Well begun, half done”. At the beginning of the story, just like many other detective stories, the author gives us a brief description of the condition by the words of a client. However, unlike other ones, this story first delineates the client’s strange behavior at length to indicate the severity of the incident in order to attract the readers to continue reading it. As is known to all, vivid depiction is essential to detective stories since it can help the readers understand each figure’s characteristics and visualize the scenes, thus making the story more authentic and attractive. Therefore, trying to present a “real world” to his readership, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the original “Holmes series”, has skillfully arranged the plots of the whole story from the perspective of Dr. Watson, a character not so specialized in discovering the truth hidde

n behind the enigmatic happenings as Holmes but so loyal to Sherlock Homes as a friend that he always acpanies Holmes wherever he goes. In this way, he elaborately depicted every scene and character in the book, Apart from the special start, the ending of the whole story, being dramatic but reasonable, is certainly an outstanding one. After all, except the author himself, who knows that the Duke’s seemingly ordinary secretary is in fact the Duke’s bastard? In addition, who knows that the Duke actually has already been acquainted with the whole thing before Holmes solves this plicated problem? Yet, surprising as it is, this ending seems so natural that it fits all the plots of the story perfectly well. While enjoying this wonderful story, I could do nothing but admire the wonderful design of this masterpiece as well as the author’s gorgeous writing skill. Closing my eyes, I can even “see” the story happening just like watching a film. Not until then did I understand why the Japanese cartoon film Detective Conan used this “Conan” as the name of its hero.

As far as I am concerned, nothing is more admirable and surprising in the hero Sherlock Homes than his profound knowledge which has certainly assisted him a lot when he was studying the case. Take the bicycle tyres for instance, Holmes actually is capable of recognizing 42 different varieties of bicycle tyres. What’s more, according to his other stories, Holmes has studied different kinds of newspapers, cigarettes, people’s footprints and other special things as well. Therefore, he seems to have the mastery of anything relevant to the cases he deals with. Except for his illimitable knowledge, Holmes also specializes in arranging the facts in order and then finding the fact leading him to a GREat discovery or even the truth itself. From his speaking “Every mystery has an answer”, we can readily shape the impression of a man with great intelligence and inflexible will. In this case, after getting rid of unrelated facts, Sherlock Homes eventually grasped the clue and discovered the amazing fact.

Needless to say, as a world-renowned masterpiece, Sherlock Holmes and the Duke’s Son has attracted and is still charming numerous readers from all corners of the world and people from all walks of life. The “Holmes series” has already set up a standard against which all the following detective fictions are measured. Sherlock Holmes, beyond all doubt, has bee a name firmly rooted in people’s memories. Although Dr. Watson’s closing The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes in 1927 was a GREat pity to the readers, the discontinuance of the entire “Holmes series” may have actually added to the legendary stature of Sherlock Holmes.

Finish reading "border town" in one breath. In such a quiet and snowy afternoon, guided by a gentle and gentle hand of the South and a look as faint as the stars, through 70 years of time and space, we walked into the ancient "tea cave" in Western Hunan, approached a river and white tower, approached an old man on a ferry, approached a girl born with crystal purity, and approached a clever, loyal and humane yellow dog

I know that it is Shen Congwens world and a piece of local land that he dreams of. One year on a trip, I also went to the small town in Western Hunan with misty water. I skimmed over the green mountains, green water, black tiles, yellow walls and stilted buildings there like a dragonfly, and tasted the long lost peace and humidity. However, it is not profound, which is far from what this thin book gives me!

Closing the book, an inexplicable emotion wrapped me quickly like snow and fog, but I couldnt tell what it was. It seemed that it was the "thin desolation" that appeared repeatedly in the book, and it didnt seem to be, but it hit me very accurately. As a vulgar person armed with "modern civilization" to the teeth, I had to be sad and think: the lowliness of life, simple love, the brilliance of human nature, plain years, mysterious fate Gods will, pain and joy, pursuit and loss... Kind people, in fact, they dont want much! People always have to stick to something! Whether its suffering or happiness, whether its water or dry, whether its weight-bearing or easy, you have to taste the ups and downs one by one. Be calm and calm, and quietly take away the life assigned to you by the creation. There is no need to complain whether it is bitter or sweet. In the ordinary world, no matter what has happened or is happening, the dusk is still gentle, beautiful and calm.

  英語讀后感 15

The hero Holton, a plicated and contradictory young man, came into my sight with his mouth full of dirty words. His cynicism caused a negative rebellion. He believed that no one in the adult society was credible, all "false hypocrite", and he longed for simplicity and sincerity, but all was false and deceptive, and he was unable to change the situation, and finally promised and even fled to the real society. In the real world, go to the backcountry to pretend to be a deaf and dumb person. But he has a childlike innocence, a pursuit of a better life and a noble ideal. In order to protect the children from falling off the cliff, he also longed to grow up as a "catcher in the wheat field", giving out the voice of "saving the children". In a word, he is a lonely and struggling man, but he is a man who demands the perfect man in the world and is helpless to yield to the reality. The kind and uneasy situation of the contradictory man is jumping, bleeding, and my eyes full of sympathy.

Holtons actions and speech actions are like the "he" that we have gone through: cynical, cynical, but conscientious and loving, Leng son, he always speaks aloud, sometimes aloud, his restless heart of youth.

Reading novels, I seem to read the confusion and dissatisfaction of teenagers on their way to life. Looking back at our current life, are there any struggles like Holton? There must be a lot of it. The confusion of puberty must be faced. Everyone in youth is probably Holton. They walked through a lot of curves, narrow roads, dangerous roads, even cliffs, and then stood, sprint and run in a bitter struggle, and finally set foot on the road of life. Perhaps hand and foot injury, perhaps head broken blood, perhaps exhausted, but finally will e over, his face has a firm smile.

The catcher in the Rye is a twilight of youths lost journey. The confusion and loss of Holton are always the confusion and loss of the growing people. I hope that the realities of Holton will correct the deviations in the journey, step on the right track, and walk on the journey of life.

  英語讀后感 16

Literature is a dream far more than a bird. It is more beautiful than a flower. The wisdom that is brighter than the stars is a belief that we will never forget. The book "journey to the west" is a bright pearl in the history of Chinese literature. This is a mythical story that tells the story of the four people of the Tang monk, the teachers and the apprenticeship. "Journey to the west" characters in different personalities, such as Sun Wukong is resourceful, lazy and diligent shaceng journey. This book is very imaginative, and it has become one of the most popular classical names of the Chinese people. The stories in the book are popular and zigzag. The true story of Monkey King left a deep impression on me. This chapter tells that the four men and the apprenticeship met the robbers on the way to get through, and Sun Wukong had to kill them, but the master was angry with Sun Wukong again. Sun Wukong had to turn to Guanyin. Guanyin he asked Sun Wukong to wait here. Just as Sun Wukong waited, a little monkey impersonate Sun Wukong to hurt his master. Later, the two Sun Wukong met on the flower and fruit hill. Finally, Sun Wukong really beat the fake Sun Wukong, and he changed back to the prototype. It turned out to be just a little monkey. After the truth, Sun Wukong went on with the master to go to the West. This book not only allows us to edify sentiment and strengthen our cultivation, but also makes our way full of sunshine and moistening the rain and dew of our hearts.

  英語讀后感 20

I felt that I was deeply fascinated by it soon after I had read it.

I first read it in a summer. I did not finish it at a single sitting. However, the moment I finished it, near midnight in a sweltering August day, with my body poured with sweat, held my breath to turn the last page over, shut the book and heaved a sigh of relief, I just could not express how I felt. All were over: trouble was over; lives were over; hopes were over. I was shocked how such a small book could contain such a complicated story. Never were wars, diseases and starvation ever nakedly exposed to me like this. The turns in plots were surprising but natural.

It was a tragedy: Just as its name suggested, everything was gone with the wind, including families’ touch, friends’ support, sweethearts’ gaze and youth with vigour. The story reminds us of valuing all we were possessing. A life lasts for a short time and anything in it lasts shorter. We always lose something unconsciously and then feel regretful when we need them later.

Characters in the story were so vivid as if they had been going to jump out of the story, as if they had been existed in the real life at first.

“Land is the only thing in the world that amounts to anything, for ‘this the only thing in this world that lasts, and don’t you be forgetting it’ this the only thing worth working for, worth fighting for——worth dying for.” Said Gerald, an Irish man who loved his soil more than his own life, let us know that life can be born out of land.

“But Scarlett, did it ever occur to you that even the most deathless love could wear out? Mine wore out, against Ashley Wilkes and your insane obstinacy that makes you hold on like a bulldog to anything you think about.”

“Scarlett, I was never one to patient pick up broken fragment glue them together and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken——and I’d rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken places as long as I lived.” Said Rett Butler, a man who love Scalett as much as a man can love a woman. Loving her for years before he finally got her, he loved her crazily but did not let her know it for fear of being hurt. But at last he still could not escape from hurts. “My dear, I don’t give a damn.” Look, he did not care about it at all. He was a man who disguised himself so much.

“I mustn’t bawl; I mustn’t beg. I mustn’t do anything risk his contempt. He must respect me even——even if he doesn’t love me.”

“I’ll think of it all tomorrow, at Tara. I can stand it then. Tomorrow, I’ll think some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day.”

Said Scalett O’hara, the most wonderful woman I’ve ever seen. She was hard and greedy and unscrupulous, a brave, frightened, bull-headed child. Though she only thought about how to attract man’s attention and did not do anything useful before the war, she did surprise me when I read about her doings after the war. At that time, her Tara was just reduced to ashes. Everyone sketched out their hands and asked her for food. She bravely faced the reality and rebuilt Tara with her own hands. What a tough woman, I thought. Though those she loved were all gone, she was still full of hope. When Rett didn’t love her anymore and wanted to leave her, she said “I mustn’t bawl… even if he doesn’t love me.” A woman’s dignity could be seen from what she have said and done. That’s why I appreciate her.

This novel gave me too much to think about and I can not fully express myself in English. It is true that reading an origin is more vivid than the translated ones. However, my English level limits me to understand the origin well without the translated. But I will work hard in order to understand better.

The novel is my treasure, forever, because I find myself in Scarlett and find the world I live in inside the story.

That’s really an excellent novel, with an ending from which you can see hope rising from despair.

"Match, Match, who will match!" Sad little girl cries hit the street. Despite this, no one to buy the girl a match. Why should the little girl selling matches in the Danian Ye? That is because her family was too poor. Look at the little girl, I think, is really a living hell, a life in paradise. Danian Ye little girl who sells matches in the cold, but me? Years in the Danian Ye mother delicious meals for my doing, my sister urged me to the side try new clothes, the whole family played music with harmony and happiness.

Corner, the little girl again and again to wipe burning match, imagine the "warm stove, the fragrant duck, the beautiful Christmas tree, kind of the grandmother." This poor little girl, these are just a mirage, but it shows a little girl life, only the cold, hunger, pain and loneliness. How long can she, like other children their own as their own should have all the ah! However, this should have all but pletely dashed. And me? In winter, sitting nice and warm in the fire warming himself, his mother also made me rich and delicious meals; summer day, finish school work, they and the children enjoy it playing with the hospital, spread joy and laughter pound ... ...

Why do I and the little girl the same age, living environment is different? This is because she was living under the capitalist social system, and I lived in a socialist system. They where full of cold, heartless, we are full of warmth and love here. However, sometimes I can not very well study hard, and it was to live in happiness, what happiness really ah! From now on, I have to pay close attention to time trying to learn cultural knowledge, we do not have to live up to, ah, to live up to our munity, our store for the future to build a better and work hard!

  英語讀后感 22

During this winter vacation I had the opportunity to read the book “Gone with the Wind.” It is a great novel written by American author Margaret Michell in the 1930s. It’s a story about southern living in the US during the Civil War. The story depicts the raise and fall of several wealthy families who owned plantations and slavers in Georgia, their love affairs and their pride as the well-to-do southerners. I especially like Scarlett O’Hara, who was a strong-willed southern woman. She was brought up in a rich family who owned many slaves and a large plantation. However, as the Yankee army from the Union marching down the South, the southerners lost their cause. O’Hara’s plantation was eventually destroyed by the war. But as a strong woman, she refused to go hungry. I was especially touched by the words she said in the final chapter of the book, with great hope, “tomorrow is another day.”
